Tuna, Sushi & Wine Festival 2026 in Zadar – Three Days of World-Class Gastronomy

08.03.2026.

From April 10 to April 12, 2026, the city of Zadar once again becomes a major destination for food lovers. The Tuna, Sushi & Wine Festival 2026 returns with a rich program that combines Adriatic fishing tradition, Japanese culinary precision, and outstanding local wines.

During these three days, the iconic City Market (Gradska pijaca) transforms into a vibrant gastronomic stage where chefs, winemakers, fishermen, and visitors come together to celebrate exceptional flavors from the sea.

Zadar – The Adriatic Capital of Tuna

The festival highlights the strong fishing heritage of the Zadar region and its important role in the farming of premium Adriatic tuna. Thanks to its exceptional quality, this tuna is highly valued on international markets, especially in Japan, where it is a key ingredient in high-end sushi cuisine.

The Tuna, Sushi & Wine Festival therefore represents a unique culinary meeting point between the Mediterranean and Japan — blending the traditions of Zadar’s fishermen with modern gastronomic creativity.

Renowned Chefs on the Festival Stage

This year’s festival will feature presentations by renowned chefs who will showcase innovative ways of preparing seafood specialties.

Among the announced guests are:

  • David Skoko – one of Croatia’s most famous chefs, presenting his unique vision of seafood cuisine

  • Fabrizio Nonis – a well-known Italian chef and food writer returning to Zadar to share his passion for premium ingredients

Their live culinary demonstrations will give visitors the opportunity to experience how top-level dishes made from tuna and other seafood are created.

Evening Program

In the evening hours, the City Market becomes one of the most vibrant nightlife spots in the city with live music performances and a lively atmosphere.

A Festival Celebrating Zadar’s Gastronomic Identity

The Tuna, Sushi & Wine Festival is more than just a culinary event — it is a celebration of Zadar’s identity. The region is home to one of the largest tuna farming fleets in the Adriatic, and this premium ingredient has become an important symbol of Croatia’s fishing industry on the global market.
